As
one might be able to imagine, it takes a lot of preparaion to realize
such a journey. It takes a lot of time but it is also really interesing
and exciting. It's amazing what one learns doing this and the amount
of new information one collects. If you are intersted in getting to
know what has to be organized and what we worried about before we get
on the way - this side shows it all.

Bikes
We've
chosen bikes which are designed for hard use off road and which
don't need major modifications. Engines and suspensions stayed
original and we only conducted following minor modifications.

Insurance
Health
Insurance:
The
web provides a lot of informations, but still it's not that easy
to finally come to a conclusion what is the best provider for
your needs. The best and most affordable insurances for our needs
were:
|
|
IHS
Student Plus: world wide insurance for students with
German citizenship; a stay of up to six weeks per year in
the home country is covered as well. |
|
|
Allianz
World Wide Care: for people living abroad; a stay
of 3 months per year in the home country is covered. |
In
both cases it was necessary to discuss our special situation with
the insurance. But the insurance contact persons were all helpful
and supporting.
